What will your responsibilities be?
In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day technical maintenance of the assigned facility (or facilities). Your key tasks will include:
⚬ Conducting regular technical rounds and monitoring the condition of building systems.
⚬ Promptly responding to service requests, diagnosing issues, and resolving technical faults and breakdowns.
⚬ Performing routine and preventive maintenance tasks.
⚬ Carrying out technical inspections of equipment according to schedules.
⚬ Ensuring the proper operation of essential systems: electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
⚬ Maintaining accurate technical documentation and logs of performed maintenance and inspections.
⚬ Coordinating and cooperating with external service providers and subcontractors.

The HVAC Technician supports the monitoring of the condition of mechanical assets and HVAC systems within facilities, carries out assessments of their technical condition, and fulfils the requirements associated with their maintenance. The Technician operates, maintains and repairs local HVAC systems, including: air-cooled chillers, direct expansion (DX) units, air handling units (AHUs), filters and chemical/biological filters (where applicable), ductwork, dampers, actuators, fans, chilled water systems, heating and cooling units, fan coil units, electric heaters, air diffusers, ventilation grilles, variable air volume (VAV) controllers, exhaust fans, supply fans, smoke extraction fans, fresh air ducts, control valves, cooling coils, and ventilation systems in laundries, kitchens and restrooms.
Roles and Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive installation, servicing and repair of HVAC systems in residential, commercial and industrial facilities, including split air conditioners, air handling units, rooftop units, exhaust fans and window/package air conditioners.
Carry out advanced fault diagnosis of mechanical, electrical and refrigeration components, identify root causes and implement corrective actions to restore optimal system performance.
Perform refrigerant recovery, recycling and reclamation procedures in strict compliance with applicable standards.
Install and calibrate thermostats, motors, compressors, fans, belts, pulleys, relays and control panels in accordance with manufacturer specifications and facility requirements.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including coil cleaning, filter replacement, lubrication, leak detection, pressure testing and verification of system performance.
Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics and building plans to ensure accurate installation and repair.
Respond promptly to service calls, assess system condition and provide detailed recommendations regarding repair, replacement or upgrades.
Document all maintenance activities, service reports, parts consumption, refrigerant tracking records and operational test results for regulatory compliance and record-keeping purposes.
Ensure full adherence to workplace safety protocols, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and environmental standards.
Collaborate with foremen, engineers, electricians, plumbers and other specialists to support project delivery and system commissioning.
Assist in evaluating HVAC equipment performance and recommend energy-efficient solutions and system improvements.
Maintain readiness to work in extreme or hazardous conditions, confined spaces, at heights and outside standard working hours where required.
Keep up to date with advances in HVAC technology, digital diagnostic tools, variable-speed systems and current codes and regulations.
Identify discrepancies in inventory/assessment records and correct them within the required timeframes.
Adhere to the AMP/A-PROJEKT "Zero Harm" initiative, ensuring a safe workplace and treating safety as the highest priority.
Take responsibility for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is an absolute priority.
Comply with all Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Quality Assurance (QA) requirements and targets.
Basic Qualifications (required education, experience, skills and certifications)
Fluent command of Polish or English.
Unrestricted right to reside and work within the EU.
Valid driving licence.
F-gas certification. Every refrigeration equipment installer should hold the appropriate qualifications, the most important of which is the F-gas certificate. This document confirms the specialist's knowledge and competence with regard to the regulations governing the safe installation and servicing of systems containing fluorinated greenhouse gases.
Desirable: Welding/brazing certification — certificates covering soldering and brazing (important for copper refrigeration pipework).
SEP G1 electrical qualifications: required for work on electrical equipment, installations and networks rated up to 1 kV (low voltage).
Desirable: Intermediate-level English — the ability to communicate effectively in speech, reading and writing.
Desirable: Completion of a recognised vocational school/technical secondary school in an HVAC field plus 2 years of experience in a similar position, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in the HVAC industry.
